In our new Creative Arts for Children class you will drop off your children for:
This class provides experience with important music concepts and skills through different songs and games. Classes include singing, movement, dancing, games, stories, and activities focusing on different concepts each semester. Rhythm instruments are used to help the child develop a good sense of beat and rhythm, and resonator bars and desk bells are used to introduce melody and harmony. Children get to experience some time at the piano, learning basic foundational skills and keyboard geography. We play our desk bells to teach beginning note reading and introduce the Solfege (do, re, mi) language. This skill is built upon throughout the year. By providing a solid music foundation, the music portion of our Creative Arts class helps prepares students for success in our popular Let’s Play Music piano program. The children will explore the elements of music: rhythm, pitch, harmony, form, dynamics and tone color. Specific concepts and skills taught include in-tune singing, timbre, beat, fast/slow, theme and form, and much more.
Taught by a professional dancer, this portion of the class will be crazy fun! The children will learn basic dance techniques, positions and terminology, along with an introduction to musical theater, story telling, and movement. They will learn fun choreography to songs they love!
ARTS AND CRAFTS!
Each week the children will do fun and age-appropriate arts and crafts projects that they will delight in sharing with you each week!
